What is it?
Get High with a Homie was inspired by the powerful work of Never Use Alone (NUA). As the drug supply becomes increasingly toxic, we’re losing more of our people. The data is loud & so is our love. We saw a gap, and we knew we could do our part to respond to it. While it’s strongly recommended to use with someone else present, we know the reality of it is that people use alone and for valid, personal reasons. NUA offers a great call-in option, but for some, even making a phone call can feel overwhelming.
Get High with a Homie offers an alternative.
This program is for people who:
Don’t want to die
Want to use alone, in peace
Have anxiety around phone calls
Just need a low-pressure way to stay more safe
We're here to hold space — no judgment or pressure. Just a harm reduction obsessed spot, connection(minimal if thats where you are), and a deep commitment to keeping our people alive. You deserve unconditional safety, respect, and support — even (and especially) in vulnerable moments.
Here is how it works:
- You’ll get a message back saying something like: “Hey, awesome. What’s the address we should use to send support?” (We need you to provide a full address so we know where to send emergency medical support The more context, the better — this helps us get the right help to you as quickly as possible. Include any entry codes, or unit identifiers, and anything that might make your location stand out.
- When you're ready to use, let us know when you’re about to hit (Ideally let us know ) text again when you're done and feeling okay. The more
- Once you confirm you've used your substance, here's what we do:
- We check in every minute for the first 5 minutes
- We will check in again at the 10 minute Mark
**If you don’t respond**
- we will call you twice (answer say anything than hang up or text us back ASAP confirming you are okay, we are not calling to chat, we are calling to confirm your breathing)
- If you still do not respond, we will call Emergency Services and report a potential medical emergency at the address you provided. We inform medical support our friend stopped responding and may be unconscious. Unless it is directly asked or needed for care we will not openly share it is a suspected overdose or mention drug activity in any form. #1312
➤ We clearly state that EMS is needed ***not*** law enforcement. Police are not medical professionals and are not required.
